SPRING NAIL ART USING THE NEW CND & :YOURS COLLECTIONS
Posted by Fee Wallace on 6th Apr 2022
Spring has only just sprung, and I have been having a blast creating fun spring nail art looks with the brand new RISE & SHINE Collection from CND™. My clients have been enjoying the bright fun selection of colours from this collection, and I’ve loved sending everyone away with a bit of a vibrant rainbow of colour on their nails.
The new :YOURS Flakes have been the most fun addition to my nail art kit in years! I love these little pots of joy, and I can’t wait to share some of the looks we’ve been creating with them. Also new from :YOURS this spring we have two new double-sided stamping plates designed by two talented nail artists from The Netherlands.
Solar Explosion - CND™ Shellac with :YOURS Stamping & Iridescent Flakes
Step 1 - Begin this look with two cured layers of CND™ Shellac Among the Marigolds.
Step 2 - Next we do a double stamp, both patterns used come from the :YOURS Loves Susan Plate – Cartoon Style. The first stamp is done with the black stamping polish - :YOURS Black Out, then the pattern placed on top is stamped with :YOURS White Light.
For tips and help with stamping, check out my Stamping Surgery Blog.
Step 3 - Use a dotting tool to add a little oval of CND™ Shellac Violet Rays to the centre of the design, and cure.
Step 4 - With tweezers, select a small piece from your pot of the :YOURS Element - Aurora Flakes, and place on to the central dot. I used a clean dotting tool to make sure the flake was pressed down smoothly.
Step 5 - Finnish with the CND™ Shellac Top Coat of your choice. To save time and achieve a terrific shine, I used CND™ Shellac No Wipe Top Coat +
Electric Spring - CND™ Shellac with :YOURS Elements
Step 1 - Begin with two cured layers of CND™ Shellac Mind Over Matcha.
Step 2 - Apply CND™ Shellac Peacock Plume with the brush out the bottle and/or a dotting tool, in sweeping sections across the nail, then cure.
Step 3 - Using a dry brush (or tweezers for more precise placement), adhere :YOURS Flakes in Flair, aiming to cover the blue sections of the nail. Be sure to use firm pressure to brush away and loose pieces not laying flat. I didn’t worry too much if some got onto the background colour, the end result still looks fabulous.
Step 4 - Use the CND™ Shellac Top Coat of your choice, best suited to your client’s needs.
Frosted Florals - CND™ Shellac with :YOURS Elements & Stamping
Step 1 - Begin with two cured layers of CND™ Shellac Oceanside.
Step 2 - Stamp two white flowers onto the nail using the :YOURS Loves Danielle Stamping Plate – Fantastic Nature, and the :YOURS Halo Stamper. I recommend the :YOURS stamping polish White Light as it’s super opaque, which is especially important with this kind of fine detail design.
Step 3 - With a dry brush, apply :YOURS Elements Flakes – Mermaid to one side of the nail, beginning toward the cuticle line. Experiment with using large flakes, small flakes, or the shimmery dusty flake pieces from the inside of the lid of the pot. I like to use a mixture of all of these.
Step 4 - Finish with the CND™ Shellac Top Coat of your choice. Again I have used the new Shellac No Wipe Top Coat. I love the shine and the time saving benefits of not having to wipe before applying SolarOil.
Here is an alternative version of this look over a different colour. Either way is beautiful and fresh for spring.
