2nd September: GLITTER, PIGMENT & CHROME

Learn the ins and outs of Lecentés glitter and pigment collection as we create different looks showcasing their versatility and ease of use. We will cover everything from basic glitter application, ombré, aura nails and perfect chrome application.

Basic glitter application

Pink glitter nails CND and Lecente

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of CND™ Shellac™ Tutti Frutti. Using a Lecente G1 brush, pat and press Lecente Fantasy Super Holographic glitter onto the inhibition layer and dust off any excess before finishing with CND™ Original Top Coat.

Lecente Leaf Application

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Take Root, using a Lecente G1 brush, pick up some flakes from the pot and gently press into position on the nail. Apply down one side of the nail and finish with CND™ Original Top Coat. Alternatively for a more full cover metallic look, use both leaf effects and cover the entire surface of the nail. Finish with CND™ Original Top Coat.

Follow by randomly pressing on the other two then dust over with your brush to blend and ensure the glitter is lying flat on the surface of the nail. Finish with CND™ Original Top Coat.

NEON/PIGMENT

Basic Neon Application

neon pink and neon ombre using cnd and lecente

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Cream Puff, using your Lecente P1 brush, pick up a small amount of Neon pigment and use the lid of the pot to press off any excess powder. Pat and press onto the inhibition layer of Cream Puff and as the colour deposits gently start to work the powder into the nail making sure the Cream Puff is completely covered. Dust off any excess powder and finish with CND™ Original Top Coat ensuring you have fully covered all neon powder before curing.

Neon Ombre

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Cream Puff. Using your lecente P1 brush, apply Lecente effect powder Yellow to the tip of the nail working down towards the middle. Then add Lecente Neon Effect Scratch from the cuticle line towards the middle of the nail to join the yellow. As they blend they will create an orange neon, go back in with the yellow pigment and work over the join of the 2 neon colours to create your ombre. You can repeat with scratch until you are happy with your blend in the centre of the nail. Finish with CND™ Original Top Coat ensuring you have covered all the neon powder before curing.

Neon Dots

white and neon dots on nails using cnd and lecente

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Cream Puff followed by a layer of CND™ No Wipe Top Coat (you could also use matte top coat if you wanted a matte base rather than shiny). Once top coat is cured, apply Scratch Neon Effect Powder over the surface of the nail and dust off any excess. Decant some Original Top Coat onto a palette and use your dotting tool to add top coat dots in whatever pattern you choose and cure. Once cured use IPA or Dsperse to remove the inhibition layer and any neon pigment out with your top coat dots.

Aura Nail

neon aura nail pink and purple using cnd and lecente

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Chic-A-Delic, once cured picking a tiny amount of Lecente Neon Effect Powder gently with your P1 brush, dab in the centre of the nail (you can use a lint free pad to dab off any excess from your brush.) Gently blend outwards to blur the edges and finish with CND™ Original Top Coat.

CHROME

Aurora Chrome Liquid Application

Aurora chrome liquid nails using cnd and lecente

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Blackpool and coat with a layer of CND™ No Wipe Top Coat, once cured shake your aurora liquids to mix the pigment through the solvent and dab on randomly. The solvents will evaporate leaving the chrome pigment on the surface of the nail. Once the solvents have evaporated use your dense make-up sponge to “polish” the chrome and blend the colours together. Finish with CND™ No Wipe Top Coat.

Chrome Pigment application

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Bouquet followed by a layer of CND™ No Wipe Top Coat (do not seal the free edge with top coat.) Once cured, use your make-up sponge to apply the chrome to the nail, remove any excess and polish the chrome also using your sponge or a lint free pad. Gently use the 1200 grit side of the koala buffer to remove the pigment powder from the free edge which will allow your top coat to seal in the chrome powder fully and eliminate the chances of chipping at the free edge. Finish with either CND™ No Wipe Top Coat or CND™ Original Top Coat, making sure to thoroughly seal the free edge.

If applying chrome powder as a pigment powder then apply 2 layers of Bouquet. Use your make-up sponge or P1 brush to apply chrome powder directly into the inhibition layer, dust off any excess then finish with Original Top Coat.

CHROME SWIRL

You will need:

Method: Apply 2 layers of Blackpool followed by a layer of CND™ No Wipe Top Coat. Once cured use your make-up sponge to apply Glass Slipper Lecente chrome over the surface of the nail, remembering to remove any excess powder and polish the chrome using your sponge. Decant some CND™ No Wipe Top Coat onto a palette and using a striping brush, apply some top coat lines or swirls to the nail and cure. Once cured, use IPA or Dsperse to remove any remaining chrome powder and reveal your design.
